Wearing the right bra size is so important, not only for the way the bra looks and feels, but for your health. Wearing an ill fitting bra can be bad for your posture and cause you back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain … the list goes on. So, let’s put a stop to this and prevent this happening to you. Keep reading our bra fitting guide to see how to get the best bra that fits to perfection. The best thing to do is get a professional bra fit appointment but you can measure your bra size at home. Here’s how to measure your own bra size.
How To Measure Your Band Size
To measure your own band size, you need a flexible measuring tape. Make sure you are wearing a non-padded bra or no bra at all. Place the tape measure around your rib cage directly under your bust. Pull the tape quite snug but not very tight and take a reading in inches where the two ends meet. You need to round your measurement to the nearest inch so it is a whole number. If this number is even, then that’s your band size. If it is odd, then you need to round up. For example, if you measured 33 inches, your band size will be 34.
How To Measure Your Cup Size
To measure your cup size at home you need to measure all the way around your body at the fullest part of your bust. Make sure the tape is quite tight on your bust. Take a reading where the two ends of the tape meet. Again, you need to round this to a full number of inches. Next you need to subtract your band size from your cup measurement. The difference between the two measurements will tell you your cup size letter. Use this table below to see which letter you are. Put the band size and the cup letter together … that’s your bra size!
